For the third time in the past four seasons, the Yavin 4 Knights have landed the top spot in the "Galactic
March Madness" Tournament, which tips off this Thursday. The Jedi in trainging from Yavin 4 finished the
season an astounding 34-0 and hope a tournament championsup will be the perfect end to a perfect season.
The tournament selection committee rewarded them with the overall #1 seed and placed them in the Outer Rim
region, where the Jedi should feel perfectly at home, having to travel a mere half a parsec to their
opening round games.
After losing the opening game of their conference tournament, The Tatooine Farmboys still managed to hang
on to a #1 seed but were booted to the Deep Core region. The Nal Hutta Kingpins landed the top seed in
the Inner Rim, and the Korriban Lords received the top spot in the Mid Rim region.
The Mid Rim region is ripe with Dark Siders, Imperials and the like. The Lords will have to make their way
past the Death Star Stormies (#2), Iridonia Red Devils (#4), Serenno Counts (#5) and Trandosha Assassins
(#6) amongst others.
The Tatooine conference placed an amazing seven teams in the tournament: The Tatooine Farmboys, Bestine
Krayt Dragons, Jundland Womp Rats, Anchorhead Dewbacks, Mos Eisley Spacers, Mos Espa Rontos and Fort Tusken
Banthas all made the field.
Some fans showed immediate outrage that the Alderaan Spirit and Dantooine Rebels made the field of
sixty-four. Both teams failed to appear at several of their games this season, and some observers claim
that the Dantooine Rebels do not even exist (although they somehow managed a 21-14 record). Considering
they are slated to play the Tatooine Farmboys in their opener, most Holonet reporters don't think it
matters much if they show or not.
The winning team will be awarded The Force Trophy, and rumor has it that Luke Skywalker himself will be
presenting the award this year.
In the woman's tournament the Witches of Dathomir once again snagged the overall #1 seed, while the Angels
of Iego are lined up on the opposite side of the bracket for what could be a titanic clash in the
championship game.
